Yes, I’m blogging about this again—but with good reason. It’s an area I specialize in.
2015 will soon by upon us and people will be looking to lose weight—and much more—as they head into the new year with an eye to a fresh and healthy start.
Hypnotherapy is a great way to tune-up how we think about food: portion size, healthy food, less snacking, feeling full more quickly—and much more.
The best way to lose weight will be the way that you can employ to help you do so long term.
We’ve all heard about “yo-yo” dieting… but why are they so? Why do we yo-yo?
Here’s why I think why—and I know many professionals who agree with me on this. When we go on a diet, rather than change our diet, we have a goal in mind. Perhaps a target weight, a time limit or both. When that goal is reached we slip back into our old habits and routines. Sometimes many people hit the old bad habits harder than before due to the period of abstinence. Deny yourself what you really like and the contempt of doing so can very often lead to diving back in, deeper than before. Many find that they not only head back to their pre-diet weight, but then get heavier than before.
They key is to change the way you think about food—on a subconscious level. Hypnotherapy is essentially looking at a cohesive relationship between the conscious and subconscious mind. Generally we know what we want but the subconscious mind has other ideas. Our subconscious mind is the home of our emotions, habits, memories, imagination and protection mechanisms. For some people all of these can be responsible for poor diets and/or exercise levels.
I primarily work using the Hypno-Band gastric band hypnosis method, but I do have other approaches.
In all cases I sit down with my client at the first session to have a deeper look at the whens wheres and whys about their eating habits and look to shape a healthier way of approaching food.
I am based in Halifax but am happy to note that I see clients from Bradford, Huddersfield, Leeds, Manchester and beyond. On that note and harking back to a recent blog of mine, when choosing your therapist, go with your gut—and not whether it’s going to mean travelling an extra 10 miles. Aftrer all, it is your health and happiness that we are talking about. As a hypnotherapist I take such matters very seriously and upon our first meeting you can expect to be with me for up to 2 hours. This is more than likely for weight loss hypnotherapy clients.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Enjoy the festive season and best wishes for the new year.
