…and if so what was the pill they were flogging?
Be wary. The fact is that there is, as yet, no “skinny pill” anywhere out there. If there were you would see it on the BBC News. It would be a global revelation.
In the meantime it’s a case if more calories being burned off than we consume, giving you a calorific deficit. When you have this deficit, you have weight loss. It’s maths.
We can also change our resting metabolic rate by way of exercise. For example: I go on somewhere between 7 and 14 dog walks a week and use my gym around 5 times a week. My resting rate is higher than say, a person with no dogs (and need to walk) who does not hit the gym. This means I burn more calories when doing nothing. Pretty handy.
How can hypnosis help?
Yes, I was bound to get there in the end—it’s what I do.
Hypnosis can help us think the way we want to think; getting our conscious and subconscious minds to work together as a team. We know what we want, but getting to think that way is often a different matter—enter hypnotherapy.
I myself use hypnotic suggestion for exercise motivation and, depending on my goals at the time, either an increase or a decrease in appetite. It’s a tool and a very handy one indeed.
Thanks for taking the time to read this little blog entry.
